SVHS presents 'Drift Signals', an audio-visual experience, merging pulsating rhythms, glitchy minimalist audio and visual elements sourced from TV static, VHS debris, and pixel stretching. Drawing on SVHS' background in experimental cinema and electro-acoustics, weaving seemingly simple audio-visual elements into complex human-filtered data streams, exploring the intersection of ambient and club music.
Field recorded amidst the surrounding forest of SVHS' studio, 'Drift Signals' features local wildlife, electrical anomalies, and drifting weather patterns, resulting in a ghostly and ever-evolving take on ambient techno.
Following the 2022 releases 'Blau Montag' (hautec) 'Bong Zero » (Archipel) 'Drift Signals' marks the second release on the equally experimental-minded Archipel Canada label, and follows the trail of creator Martin Dumais' many electronic collaborations and solo projects namely: Stärker, AUN or Les Jardiniers.
The live premiere at Mutek 2022, now partly forms 'Drift Signals, and showcases SVHS' hybridations of techno, and his ability to merge sonic and visual elements to create a truly immersive experience.
